Peter Sharp – Director Leaving Cambridge with an engineering degree, Peter spent twelve years divided equally between commercial negotiation for North Sea oilfield construction contracts and running his own business. Married, he decided to change direction and more recently spent fourteen years with the charitable Industry and Parliament Trust, joining as Operations Manager and then becoming Finance Director and Acting Chief Executive. His voluntary activities have included helping to form a youth club and many years on a Parochial Church Council, including five as its Treasurer. |

Roger Potter – Founder of WWV After graduating from Oxford University Roger served with Voluntary Service Overseas in Bangladesh. After a brief stint in PR he spent 20 years in secondary education, latterly as principal of a London 6th Form College. He founded WorldWide Volunteering for Young People in 1994 since when he has been closely involved with international and UK based volunteering. |

Jacqueline Dingle – Assistant Director After living in many different countries and continents as wife of a diplomat, Jacqueline joined Roger Potter when he started WorldWide Volunteering in 1995 and became Assistant Director in 2002. |

Anita Sawyer – Information Officer After starting a career as a hairdresser, Anita began working as a Peripatetic Youth Worker on a double-decker bus touring rural villages. After working for a charity dedicated to supporting carers, starting in administration and moving on to the home care organiser, she moved from Lincolnshire to Somerset and in May 2002 joined WWV. She maintains the WWV database with updates, additions and deletions and also oversees invoicing. |

Liz Haigh – Volunteer Co-ordinator Originally from Yorkshire, Liz has a legal administrative background but now enjoys working in the charitable sector. She joined WWV in 2005 and wears a number of hats in the organisation, including being PA to the Director, and co-ordinating two bursary funds. Liz enjoys her contact with returned volunteers; the enthusiasm and sense of achievement really shine through in their stories and photos, highlighting the benefits of volunteering and the work which WWV does. Liz is married with three children. |

Sharon Spearing – Funding Support Officer Sharon rejoined WWV in 2009 as Funding Support Officer after a break to have a baby. She originally came to WWV in 2006 as PA to director Peter Sharp as well as fundraising liaison. Sharon comes from an administrative background having previously worked in local government, in the hospitality sector, for a large firm of solicitors and the construction industry. |

Josie Stewart – Head of VPMs Having completed a French degree, Josie graduated from King's College, London in July 2004 and then joined WWV promoting volunteering in 100 secondary schools in London, Hertfordshire and Essex. For Josie, the best part of the job is the chance to meet so many different people which has opened her eyes to a whole new world. |

Natalie Jones – Volunteering Project Manager for Disadvantaged Youth North West Natalie has been working for WWV as a Volunteering Project Manager in the North West since September 2008. Originally Natalie was representing WWV in schools and sixth-forms in the region but since January 2010 has been working within Action for Children projects with difficult to engage young people; she thrives off the many new challenges which this project presents. Natalie comes from Wrexham, North Wales but is currently based in Liverpool where she moved for university in 2004. Natalie has been involved in volunteering since an early age and is currently a volunteer Independent Visitor with Barnardos and a switchboard operator at ChildLine in her spare time. |

Amy Holtz – Volunteering Project Manager South East After graduating from Macalester College (Minnesota) in 2004, Amy came over to England and worked at a residential English language camp. Loving the British climate so much, she decided to stay, and is currently settling into Sussex and promoting volunteering in secondary schools in the area. She is pleased to be able to use her experiences volunteering to help others along the same path. |

Roz Middleton – Volunteering Project Manager for Disadvantaged Youth North East Volunteering has taken Roz to different parts of the UK, as well as North and South America, for a variety of projects. Her degree in Community and Youth Work at the University of Durham took her all around the North East and as far as Hong Kong. She is delighted to be able to share her experiences with the young people of the North East, giving them similar opportunities. When not volunteering or working, Roz enjoys watching films, reading, supporting Newcastle United and driving (which is lucky in this job). |

Amy Fletcher – Volunteering Project Manager (Disability) London and Cambridgeshire Amy studied English & Theatre Studies at Leeds University where she volunteered on a number of youth arts projects. After graduating in 2006, Amy travelled to India before working at Ernst & Young where she enjoyed voluntary work with the Corporate Responsibility Team. She now volunteers for the Mencap Youth Action Team to encourage opportunities for young people with learning difficulties and is enjoying sharing her experiences and encouraging students to volunteer. |

Sue Munday – Volunteering Project Manager Dumfries & Galloway Sue has been involved in volunteering ever since moving to Scotland ten years ago; both in a recruitment capacity with Camphill and WRVS, and as a volunteer herself for The Samaritans, WRVS, the local youth group and local school. Sue is looking forward to inspiring young people to become involved in volunteering and travel. When not running around after her two boys, Sue enjoys mountain biking, running, travelling to new places, reading and painting. |

Sharon Hunt - Ex-Offenders Volunteering Project Manager South East Sharon has always had an interest in people, communities and society as a whole. She studied Sociology at Goldsmith College, University of London where she graduated in 2003 and has volunteered for most of her adult life offering support to others. Sharon plays an active role in her local Anglican Church and sits on the Church Council. Sharon has many years’ experience working with ex-offenders and hard to reach communities. She enjoys reading, going to the theatre and culinary programmes. |

Aaron Jackman - Ex-Offenders Volunteering Project Manager North West Aaron holds a long-standing passion for disaffected individuals and communities. After studying History and Musicology at the University of Leeds, he returned to his hometown of Manchester in 2006 to start a family and work as a Young People’s Officer for marginalized young people. In the years since his return, Aaron has volunteered with young ex-offenders and care-leavers and devotes his time to volunteering with Manchester’s homeless. He is also part of a volunteer team who travel annually to an Albanian orphanage. He has a keen interest in theology and ethics, enjoys football and fancies himself as a bit of a music maestro. |

Jess North - Volunteering Project Manager Bristol and Cardiff Jess recently graduated from Cardiff University where she studied Psychology but has always had an interest in working with young people and is passionate about volunteering. Her interests are in drama and performance and she enjoys combining these with the chance to work with children, as well as volunteering opportunities. She previously took part in the Pyramid project which works with building confidence socially and academically in young children. Jess enjoys trapeze classes and has recently joined a singing group as her hobbies! |

Hannah Smyth – Volunteering Project Manager for National Citizen Service, South East
Since graduating in 2008 Hannah has worked in video with various charities as a producer/editor. While working within video she has spent 8 years working as a swimming teacher and manager. WWV offered me the chance to bring all the skills I have gained working with charity and young people and the enthusiasm for volunteering into one forum, helping the Football League recruit students for the National Citizen Service. |

Laura Boughey - Volunteering Project Manager for National Citizen Service, South Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire. Laura graduated in International Development in 2006, and has since worked with young people in a variety of roles, helping them develop confidence and achieve their potential. She has always enjoyed volunteering herself, whether it is working with local conservation projects or grassroots charities in Uganda. She currently lives in Leeds, and is looking forward to helping 16 year olds access the new experiences and confidence that the NCS programme will bring.

Laura Duckworth – Volunteer Project Manager for Injured Service Personnel Scotland
Prior to joining WWV at the Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU) in Edinburgh, Laura spent six years in the Army, completing operational tours of Iraq and Afghanistan. She has the challenge of encouraging wounded and sick service personnel to get involved in volunteering as part of their rehabilitation to full health and eventually civilian life. Laura has a Geography and French Degree from the University of St Andrews. She is a keen mountaineer, is passionate about wintersports and is a ski instructor in her free time. |

Penny Wykes-Sneyd – VPMs Diary Co-ordinator After living abroad for several years Penny settled in Dorset in 1996 and joined WWV in 2001. She is very involved with doing voluntary work with both Barnardos and the local hospice. Working from home is the ideal combination for Penny as she also spends a lot of time marching up hills trying to train a puppy to be a gun dog. |

Jan Carey - VPMs Diary Co-ordinator Jan has been with WWV since 2003 and has a background in financial services, is married and lives in Dorset. She has been involved with voluntary work as a Justice of the Peace for South Somerset since 1991 working in the adult criminal courts as well as supporting local charities. The best part of working with WWV for Jan is the enthusiasm and commitment not only of her colleagues but also the young people who take part in volunteering projects. |

Jackie Sopwith – Fundraising Executive After graduating from the School of Oriental and African Studies, Jackie worked for a commodity company where she specialized in trading with China. She then went into the city spending some years in equity sales. Married with three children and living in Devon she enjoys working and her prime function is fundraising and developing new sources of income for WWV. |

John Brown – Fundraising Executive Following a 30-year business career in the UK and overseas, John has been involved with WWV since 1999. He then built up his own international business consultancy over ten years. He has had a lifelong interest in young people and a passion for volunteering. He runs a growing charity in Nepal sponsoring 50 youngsters from deprived backgrounds at St Xaviours, Kathmandu. |

Richard Illingworth – Fundraising Executive A career soldier from 1970 – 2002, including a 5 year attachment to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office based in Ethiopia, Richard has run his own Executive Search and graduate recruitment company, FalloutUK, before joining WWV as a fundraiser. He has had close links with the voluntary sector over the years, especially in Sub Saharan Africa as a security briefer and as a schools visitor for the Ormonde Advisory Group. He lives with his family in Whitcombe, Dorset. |
