New National Citizen Service Volunteering Project Manager (VPM) for London

18 January 2012

Hannah, who over the years has worked with various charities such as Amnesty International, Oxfam and the British Red Cross, is keen to get started; ‘NCS is a fun project in which young people get to spend two weeks away from home; the time away is focused on outward bound activities like climbing, sailing, abseiling, as well as learning about their community and taking part in team building activities with their peers.  Then they develop their social action project, where they get to design something great for their community and actually implement it.  Some have produced videos while others have put on 5-a-side football tournaments to raise money – there’s a huge list of ideas!  Last year the projects were great and I’m looking forward to working with WWV!’

Hannah will be working with the Football League Trust as well as WWV to carry out the National Citizens Service; this means working alongside the Community Trusts of popular London football teams, such as Leyton Orient and Charlton Athletic, to recruit as many young people as possible for the Summer of 2012.
