WWV offers a number of professional services from the syndication of our volunteering database to dedicated support from one of our experieced project managers. Take a look to see how we can help.
WWV’s enormous volunteering opportunity database is updated several times per day. The database contains over 1.6 million volunteering placements per year, in the UK and overseas. All the information about volunteering opportunities from 3,000 organisations is presented in an organised, consistent and easy-to-follow manner.
You can search and find out:
- what each organisation does
- what placements are available
- where they are
- when they can be done
- whom to contact
- any restrictions, qualifications or special conditions
WWV’s database is available on licence from WWV for your intranet or external site and will supply all the volunteering opportunities you need for all ages, abilities and interests, as companies such as BMW and Britvic have found to their benefit.
The database is tailored to your specification
WWV adapts the database to your requirements, in your branding. Management tools are available to suit you, to keep track of the volunteering done by your staff. If you wish, we can limit the opportunities displayed, by theme or by geographical area. WWV can also feed database information into a “front-end” of your own design.
On-site personal support
To maximise the benefit of your employee volunteering programme, WWV offers on-site support from its team of skilled Volunteering Project Managers. Their expertise inspiring and helping people to volunteer is unique. They are equally adept at guiding and encouraging individual volunteers face-to-face or addressing groups of hundreds of people, and they can do the same for you.
Tailored placements
WWV can research and tailor volunteering placements for different groups of employees. The following are examples of how WWV could help you:
- Contact senior staff personally to identify their tastes and wishes, establish where they want to volunteer and then arrange it. The placements would be high-level and high-impact e.g. volunteers could become Trustees/Board members or business mentors or providers of pro bono advice to charities.
- Encourage initiative and personal and talent development amongst middle-ranking staff, WWV can meet them in a series of class sessions or workshops. The sessions will be intended to equip, encourage and assist each person to find their own placement, with one-to-one help and advice available during the sessions and by email and telephone afterwards.
- Find placements for groups of junior staff. Examples of these kinds of placements are: gardening, decorating, clearing ditches or playgrounds, helping out in offices etc.
- Staff can be encouraged to raise funds privately for materials and equipment for their placements. They can also be encouraged to build long-term relationships with the organisations they help.
Special projects
WWV also offers assistance developing and running bespoke volunteering projects. For example, for the third consecutive year WWV is managing Vodafone’s World of Difference programme. Having advised Vodafone prior to launch, each year WWV selects and oversees 500 charity projects from public applications. In 2010 Vodafone’s Chairman said of WWV’s contract: “Our relationship with WorldWide Volunteering has been hugely successful”
